This paper compares two laboratory reports regarding quantum computing uses – one on protein simulations of cancer research (Chachkarova et al., 2025) and the other on fraud detection in financial networks (Wang et al., 2024). The analysis has examined each report’s adherence to principles of technical communication as outlined by Markel & Selber (2018). Areas of consideration included title clarity, abstract conventions and structure, and structure of results. In addition, one report emphasized an audience of specialists focusing on technical depth, whereas the other emphasized an audience of greater general readership focusing on accessibility.
